As a System Specialist you support database-based Research applications implemented both in agile and standardized informatics environments. That means to respond fast to scientists informatics needs and to work with and implement leading edge technology for Research. It also includes coordination and co-work with external companies and internal informatics departments as well as consulting Research informatics colleagues in implementation questions for databases. In detail your responsibilities are:
Providing day-to-day support and maintenance for key Oracle databases to business units Creating, migrating Oracle databases also providing technical support for ongoing application roll-out activities Supporting multiple RAC, databases and ASM instances Working in conjunction with scientific user groups and other IT teams to understand functionally, scalability, performance, security and integration requirements from the database perspective also to promote changes to production environment |

To fullfil our requierements you need to have: Very good knowledge in Oracle Very good knowledge in Linux / Unix Experience in consultancy work, both with company internal and external parties Good understanding of analyzing business requirements and systems solution design Team worker. Good customer orientation. Self-organisation. Business English
in the field of Oracle you should have: Good understanding of RAC Good understanding of Oracle9i Advanced Replication and Streams 10g Good understanding of building up Oracle backup and disaster recovery strategies
Additionally it would be good if you have: Experience in Computer System Validation Experience in scientific environments, prefered in pharmaceutical industries Experience in service management
