• Review and analyze fund documents (private placement memorandum, due diligence questionnaire, audited financial statements) • Review and analyze manager documents (compliance manuals, procedures, valuation policies, disaster recovery plans) • Plan, organize and perform on-site due diligence visits with emphasis on: - Manager organization (structure, staffing, infrastructure, compliance and regulation) - Fund structure (incorporation, terms and conditions, investor base, corporate governance) - Back office (systems, counterparties, transfers, trading, settlement and reconciliation) - Valuation (policy, controls and procedures) - Independent oversight (administrator, NAV calculation and auditors) • Perform accuracy and reference checks • Write operational due diligence reports • Make recommendations to the Chief Risk Officer and to the Investment Committee • Monitor existing positions and set alerts to the Chief Risk Officer and to the Investment Committee • Perform quality analysis on counterparties used by hedge funds • Perform thematic research on issues or challenges that the hedge fund industry may be exposed to |

Master in Business, Finance, Engineering or IT 3 to 5 year experience as hedge fund CFO, COO or auditor, hedge fund operational due-diligence and operation specialist, or regulation specialist Clear understanding of hedge fund operation set-ups (familiar with legal, operational, financial and IT) Familiar with investment vehicles used and strategies implemented by hedge funds Solid understanding of valuation principals Ability to properly understand and assess complex organizational and financial structures Robust analytical skills Ability to get the details right while assessing the full operational risk spectrum Strong social skills when leading on-site due diligence meetings; ability to deal with people at different levels |
