Microsoft Enterprise Services is seeking a Microsoft technical consultant to join the Center of Excellence for Dynamics (CoE-D) team. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual who possesses a technical ERP background, strong project and business development experience. The ideal candidate will have a track record of technical excellence with the proven ability to map customer business problems to end-to-end technology solutions. This person will have demonstrated the ability to engage in senior level technology discussions related to business agility, IT value, and ERP technologies.
We are looking for technical consultants with ERP industry background that we can train in the Dynamics AX product and develop into Architects. Outstanding Microsoft technical skills and experience in implementing ERP systems will serve as the foundation upon which the successful candidate will be trained in the Dynamics AX product. To be a viable candidate he or she must have experience with implementing large ERP (e.g. SAP, Oracle/PeopleSoft, Lawson) applications. Understanding of competitive technology enables the AX Architect to properly assess feasibility of migrating customer solutions from, and/or integrating with customer solutions hosted on Microsoft and non-Microsoft platforms.
The Center of Excellence Architects will be key enablers for local/regional Enterprise Services and Microsoft Partner teams – a key goal is to improve the readiness of local/regional teams and Partners who are engaged in critical pre-sales activities for large, complex and strategic projects. The Dynamics AX Architect applies advanced analysis skills and experience in principals of ERP application design to define appropriate customer solutions. A Dynamics AX Architect routinely acts as subject matter expert, assisting Microsoft account teams, Services Sales Executives and Engagement Managers. Architects are able to deliver effective strategic presentations to audiences of all sizes and possess excellent communication skills. They maintain extensive product group relationships and drive technical readiness for ERP solutions with product certifications and specific ISV packaged solutions expertise as needed.
The key focus areas include:
Enterprise, Platform, Industry, and ERP Solution Guidance
- Work with the local Services teams for customers and Partners to align technology to business requirements
- Identify system interfaces, constraints, scope, cost, risks and value
- Improve local/regional Microsoft Services and Partner team skills through active collaboration on pursuits and engagements
- Get engaged in selected Services top tier opportunities to ensure proposal and delivery quality
Successful Solution Deployments, Business Value and Customer/Partner Satisfaction
- Provide ERP solution leadership and quality assurance during both pre-sales and project delivery
- Review and recommend alternative solution approaches

The successful candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent work experience. This role requires at least 10+ years relevant working experience including expertise in enterprise ERP implementations as well as application deployment and/or distributed system implementation. Qualifications include hands-on experience with multi-phase, global, enterprise-wide ERP implementation with focus on presales/business development as well as engagement delivery. Desirable technical experience includes hands-on expertise in several of the following products or technologies: NET, SQL Server, BizTalk.
Frequent travel (up to 70%) is an integral part of this job, as are high levels of recognition and visibility. |
