Support Manager / Relationship Manager:
Develop and pro-actively manage a profitable and reputable portfolio of high net worth clients Interact with other parts of Private Banking and the Group for the mutual benefit of HSBC and the client
Position exists within a growing and dynamic private banking team for a junior relationship manager with existing relationship management or senior assistant experience, to take responsibility for an existing client base. Suitable candidates should ideally have an excellent command of both English and French, and should have prior experience of dealing with clients with a UK resident non-UK domicile status. The individual would predominantly act as local relationship manager where the primary relationship management role is handled from another location. The individual will need to evidence solid banking experience, together with excellent coordination skills and the desire to cooperate with colleagues in disparate localities. Objectives will relate to the growth and profitability of this business, whilst also referring to effective risk management.
Core Responsibilities:
Business development
Support relationship manager to identify new business opportunities Develop network of Group and External professional contacts with the aim of introducing new business, enhancing technical knowledge and promoting the good name of the Group Support relationship manager to prospect target clients
Relationship Management Responsibility Achieve agreed financial targets by development of existing and new relationships Review periodically client database to keep information up to date and record major developments Report all relevant contacts with clients by using official reporting tools in respect with regulations Maintain an awareness of relevant products and services available from Group sources and elsewhere in order to provide the best solutions for clients and maximise revenues for PBRS, GPB and the Group. Use internal products specialists network to develop clients relationships Ensure effective use of Investment Advisors and Wealth Planners Initiate and input transactions with clients based on their instructions, follow up settlement and confirm execution in respect with sales and dealing regulations Maintain an understanding of economic, business, tax, property, legal and others relevant matters to a standard that is commensurate with the exacting nature of the existing and target client base Develop and maintain strong cultural and market awareness May take on special projects Develop a network of colleagues across business areas, and is a good team player.
Audit / Regulation and Risk Deliver standards consistent with a world-class private bank Act as a good ambassador and work towards the best interests of PBRS and the Group as a whole in all dealings both internally and externally Ensure the Bank’s position is protected in terms of Credit, Compliance and Legal issues and that the Group and Regulatory Guidelines are adhered to, strictly and in spirit, such that the reputation and goodwill of the Group is protected Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Any failures to comply with the above should be reflected in year end performance assessments |

Credit Skills – ideally obtained in an area dealing with HNW individuals/Business Banking IT Skills – knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications Banking/Investment products – clear understanding of the major products/services available in the private banking industry Building and maintaining relationships – within HSBC Private Bank, the Group and professional groups externally Attendance at internal training courses
Specific Responsibilities: To act as local RM, where primary relationship management role is handled remotely. To take responsibility for an existing, large and demanding client base. To promote and optimise Geneva as an attractive offshore centre for PBGB
Specific Qualifications & Competences: Previous RM/ very senior assistant experience Excellent English and French Knowledge of UK non-dom status |
