Cisco Technology Center is an integral function of the overall Cisco strategy towards innovation:
- as Cisco is delivering solutions to the market via Business Units, they partner with them in order to push forward and expand current roadmaps
- as Cisco is exploring the creation of new Business Units in new market ventures, they insert and provide technology support to those emerging initiatives

Role summary:
We are looking for candidates, who are motivated by working in a challenging and innovative environment; who will challenge assumptions, present creative ideas and explore new technologies to bring attractive solutions to market. The successful candidate will be experienced in Software development in video industry; s/he must demonstrate project management capabilities and results oriented approach with ability to partner both internally within the organization as well as externally at the industry level.
Responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with the strategy council on defining new directions and projects
Contribute to the development of new software technologies and prototypes with innovative ideas on architecture, technology, development process and development
Responsible for the design and the implementation phase of the proposed ideas
Deliver software modules specification and systems with related testing and debugging results
Work on a project with a team of engineers involved in development of new software technologies and prototypes |

MSEE/CS and 5+ years relevant video coding and software development experience
SW Architect experience with a deep knowledge and experience of software modelling and development tools
Software technical leader with experience in coaching a small team of engineers / project team (3-7)
Excellent project management skills (able to start a new project from scratch and organize the technical architecture)
Video coding experience required
Deep knowledge in MPEG and H264 with experience on 3D video, HDTV, IPTV
Strong skills in developing with C++ and Java, other languages (django, python, ruby, C, Eiffel, C#, mono, Ajax, etc.) would be an asset
Knowledge of 3D environments is a plus
Excellent motivation and drive. Team player.
Excellent communication skills (ability to sell the project to BUs and external partners, and exchange ideas)
Fluent in English, French will be an asset.
