Manages framework of pension asset management of group pension plans on a global basis in order to optimize risk and return profile of pension plans in line with corporate objectives. Responsibilities of the position include the following in the area of pension asset management; - Establishment and implementation of global policy - Establishment and co-ordination of organizing management committee - Establishment and implementation of guiding principals - Establishment of transparent monitoring & reporting - Initiative of ALM exercise - Coaching local management - Coordination with external advisors - Liaison with pension scheme fiduciaries (eg trustees) The position has to coordinate with other corporate functions such as HR and Accounting to bring all the different aspects together on pension asset management.
Areas of responsibility:
1. Global policy for pension asset management Establishing and implementing global policy to govern pension asset management of the group pension plans in line with the corporate objectives taking account of risk tolerance of the group and impact on accounting and cash flow of the group. 2. Governance system of pension asset management Establishing and coordinating a governance system to control pension asset strategy including; - Organizing management committee - Set up clear roles and responsibility 3. Guiding principles for pension asset management Establishing and implementing guiding principles and procedures fro pension asset management including; - Asset allocation - Set up benchmarks - Manager selection - Asset rebalance - Administration cost 4. Monitoring of pension asset Establishing monitoring and reporting system for financial status and risk of pension asset - Evaluation of asset portfolio periodically - Robust oversight of risk and return profile - Transparent reporting system 5. Taking initiatives of global ALM exercise of the group pension plans. 6. Coaching local management for pension management to build and develop internal competencies. 7. Obtaining external advisory services to ensure qualitative management. 8. Pension contribution and funding strategy. Assist and co-work with HR division.
