(1) Responsible for Treasury reporting activities (in cooperation with JTI Treasury front office in Geneva and back office in Manchester). Owns reporting of financial instruments, including debt, derivatives and marketable securities under US GAAP and IFRS. Works with Financial Planning & Analysis to provide meaningful and timely analysis of "below OCC" and FCF line items as they relate to Treasury activities. Works with Treasury to improve management reporting in the area of financial instruments and market risk exposures; (2) Owns the consolidated statement of cash flows (SCF); (3) Responsible for implementing all new accounting prounouncements and updating corporate accounting policies; (3) Manages preparation and audit of annual US GAAP financial statements; (4) Supports Financial Controller in responding tocomplex US GAAP inquiries, especially those relating to unusual or infrequent events and transactions; (5) Works on special projects, including M&A activities. Owns jSOX controls relating to the above activities. Areas of responsibility 1. Treasury reporting: develop expertise in FAS 133, FAS 161, FAS 157, IFRS 39, IFRS 7 and other authoritative pronouncements on financial instruments. Ensure that financial instruments are accounted for in compliance with US GAAP (and/or IFRS). 2. Treasury reporting: obtain working knowledge of the Treasury reporting system. Improve management reporting capabilities (usefulness/relevance and timeliness of reporting the impact of Treasury activities on financial results). 3. New accounting pronouncements: stay current on all accounting pronouncements and implement relevant new standards affecting the company. Accounting Policies: work on improving accounting policies and support transition to IFRS. 4. Statement of cash flows: assume primary responsibility for the accuracy of the consolidated cash flow statements. 5. US GAAP financial statements: develop all footnotes, ensure accuracy and completeness of disclosures, work with external auditors to issue US GAAP standalone financial statements in a timely manner. 6. US GAAP/IFRS inquiries: support Financial Controller in responding to complex inquiries, including those related to financial instruments and unusual transactions. 7. Work on special projects as required, including M&A activities. 8. Own jSOX controls relating to above activities.
