| The MVD Biomarker / Experimental Medicine Leader (BEML) will be accountable for project related biomarker (BM) strategy and its delivery in metabolic and vascular disease. The purpose of these activities will be to utilize BMs for optimally informed decision making in drug development and to utilize BMs and emerging diagnostics in the effective implementation of personalised health care. In addition, the BEML will advance the BM function's abilities in Metabolic and Vascular Disease area and / or technology in order to contribute to functional excellence across projects. BEMLs will also develop Experimental Medicine approaches to enable the discovery and validation of new MVD BMs and pharmacological targets in humans |

You are an experienced Biomedical scientist with a background in diabetes/ vascular disease/ inflammation/ systems biology/ human genetics/ genomics (MD / PhD, MD, or PhD) having demonstrated excellence in independently led and conducted clinical research in academia and/ or industry. You have in depth experience in the metabolic and vascular disease area, clinical and basic Research Methodology and/or Biomarker technology area. You have a good understanding of drug development and the concepts of characterizing, validating and utilizing innovative BMs and potential pharmacodiagnostics. You are aware of the challenges of implementing BM approaches in the clinical setting and in the analysis of complex BM data. You have the ability to influence teams and key stakeholders, to manage meetings and to create and carry out action plans. Furthermore you show excellent written and communication skills. As this is a global position, you should also be willing to travel internationally and work cross-culturally.
