Tools Engineer
bal Platform & System Information Solutions (GPS IS), based at Roche Diagnostics Ltd. in Rotkeuz, specializes in the development and maintenance of IT solutions in the field of medical technology. The GPS IS team is now expanding and is seeking an energetic, motivated person to help develop the next generation of our applications. Your qualifications are ETH / HTL or comparable university degree in applied science, medicine or business administration.

As Tools Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Operation and maintenance of a test and training clinical laboratory on our premises
Support of test activities for our Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Work Area Managers (WAM), and Point of Care (POC) management software products (connectivity, workflows, usability)
Define and gather tool requirements for tool and process improvement projects
Evaluate tools and create proof-of-concept implementations for key requirements
Setup and maintenance of department specific tools, e.g. life cycle management, (unit) testing, UML, translation and version management systems
Setup and Maintenance of department specific configurations / schemas for customizable tools, e.g. life cycle management, test management and document management
Coordinate intra-departmental tool standards and usage
User management for local, site and global tools
Hard- and software allocation to development teams
Prepare product based development and test environments
Customize standard workstation images based on user needs
Data migrations activities for new implementations, upgrades or replacements
Interface implementations to extend usability and automation of existing tools
Implementation of reporting solutions and reporting template generation
Tool and document generation support
Contribute to the permanent process to optimize and improve quality and efficiency
Communicate effectively in spoken and written English (and German)

HTML, XSL, XSD, XML, JavaScript and User Interface Design
Reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports or FOP

Knowledge with the following would be beneficial:
Exposure to different cultures and multi-national team experience
Administration & Implementation of process support tools, to include MS Project, Rational ClearQuest, Rational RequisitePro, HP Quality Center or comparable tools
Understanding of and experience with change management processes
Coordination with management and development teams
