The Display & DR Marketplace team comprises several teams, ranging from project-based individuals to functional teams (Analysts / Optimisers and Media Buyers). Yahoo!’s performance network is the key priority in Europe for 2010, and is receiving a multi-million dollar investment in 2010 to ensure that we take substantial market share in each country in 2010. The media buying team manages the Network of 3rd party publishers across for each country (UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain).This Team is essential to Yahoo! success in the display market overall. The role requires a senior person, with several years’ experience, who is able to manage a team of media buyers across a number of countries. With some countries more advanced than others, the ability to operate based on local market needs is essential. Media buyers are responsible for acquiring inventory on a regular basis based on the demand, coordinating with the sales department to respond to clients’ requests and with business development to source new supply, always synchronizing demand and supply to ensure that demand is fulfilled. This role will be based in our office in Rolle and will report to the Director of Display & DR Marketplace based in Rolle.
Responsibilities: - Management of EU Media Buying team (UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain) – and providing strong direction to ~10 media buyers (some of those 10 are TBH) around publisher services, management of network and network growth options across Europe. - Ensure team delivers on its targets on supply, publishers and margin. - Represent the Media Buying team in meetings, also focusing on specific cross-team projects requiring Media Buying input and/or buy-in - Buying and Negotiating: Negotiate and acquire inventory from existing publishers on a regular basis - Prepare and execute a media buying plan that ensures we have the correct number of impressions/clicks at the right price - Ensure that average cost of media buying across the entire network meets our gross margin targets - Negotiate with publishers to gain better insight into what we are buying - Network Account Management: Manage the network of existing publishers on a daily basis ensuring that the inflow of supply is what we ordered and in line with demand - Limiting the amount of non-monetised impressions being a key measurement (Defaults, PSA’s etc) - Monitor and analyse activity and performance of individual publishers to ensure that the supply meets our requirements (in accordance with the supply analysts) - Maintain and nurture good business relationships with key publishers - Gain insight on the market (rates, competitors etc) to refine buying strategy - Internal Coordination: Working closely with Sales, other DR & Display Marketplace teams (like the DR Analysts and the DR Marketplace team) and the Supply Analysts to ensure we have a good understanding of the demand and the performance of the supply we are bringing in - Working with Business Development in an advisor capacity in respect of sourcing new sources of impressions/clicks - Provide weekly reports to Head of Media buying with KPI metrics - DR Revenue with average CPM paid, Publishers used with volumes and average CPM’s paid |

- Experience in media buying within the online media sector is a pre-requisite - Ideally experienced in working in a performance network environment - analytical skills - Solid understanding of the Yahoo Network (YN) and DR product - Experience in managing team on senior level, ideally experience in managing team remotely - Proven track record on delivery and results performance - Relationship management skills - Negotiating skills - Knowledge of the performance marketing industry - Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel - Comfortable with using Ad Serving management software |
