The incumbent, member of Global Research &Development (R&D) function, will play a key role in managing the Budgeting / Planning activities & Actual performance for global R&D function. He/She will contribute to the development, coordination and controlling of the consolidated R&D budget to ensure efficient preparation and monitoring process. The function will be accountable for providing line and R&D Senior management with timely, meaningful analysis of actuals performance results, as well as functional budget and plans. The function will support the line management in streamlining planning and reporting processes to enhance the quality of R&D budgets. He/She will be responsible to ensure financial governance, proper internal controls and financial data integrity.
Areas of responsibility
1- Proactively support R&D function in planning / forecasting process by ensuring the quality and timely submissions of departmental forecast, latest estimates and annual budgets. This includes but not limited to preparation of data collection templates, systems loads, development of management analysis reports, explanation of key variance drivers on departmental budgets, headcount analysis and Capital investments within the guidelines and timings as set by R&D internal planning process as well as following corporate planning requirements.
2- Assists in controlling of monthly functional performance (cost center spending, headcount and Capex) - by Function and Cost Center - providing the R&D functional management and line management with comprehensive performance management reports in a user friendly / customized format, highlighting deviations from the plan, the associated business drivers, identifying and addressing potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
3- Establish effective partnership working relationships with all key local (HR and local Finance teams) and global (BSC, Corporate FP&A, Markets. JTI SA) stakeholders.
4- Ensure the financial data integrity of actual results by reviewing the monthly actual records, following up on compliance with corporate accounting standards and maintaining necessary accruals. Furthermore, ensure the reconciliation of plan data amongst all corporate planning systems, as well as data readiness for plan submission and reporting.
5- Be responsible and monitor functional compliance with internal controls and JSOX requirements, as well as provide support on BAP/Memos preparation.
6- Contribute to the improvement and development of current / new performance management analysis techniques in order to proactively identify performance trends and potential business concerns.
7- Support line management and R&D Senior management in the preparation of functional presentations/analysis and other ad hoc projects. |

Business Diploma with Finance focus.
2- 3 years experience in FMCG companies ideally in Finance Planning / Analysis.
Must be fluent in English. SAP R/3 & Business Warehouse experience is a plus. Strong MS office applications skills - Excel and PowerPoint.
Functional Skills: Excellent finance & accounting knowledge, proficient with financial systems and tools, strong analytical, project, meeting, time, conflict and negotiation skills. |
