Manager Credit Operations
Due to the current and anticipated growth in our business and resultant increase in credit staff at our Geneva office, we are in need of a professional manager to oversee the credit operations including the analytical staff.

This person will manage the work, priorities, and staff responsibilities of a professional and experienced credit team. They potentially will have direct contact with both internal and external customers worldwide that may require someone with more experience.

It is not imperative that the individual be an expert at all aspects of credit risk management, but they must have very strong people management and leadership skills. The incumbent will ensure that a consistent and common credit approach is applied by the credit staff for the daily counterparty risk activities of the trading and marketing business at the Geneva location. They will also ensure that the team maintains a broad perspective and a global platform approach to credit risk management actions.

The manager will coordinate and collaborate with other credit and documentation professional within the ETI Platform and globally within Cargill. The position will report to the Global ETI Platform Credit & Documentation Manager located in Minneapolis, MN. Frequent consultation and interaction with the global manager will be expected. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Manage a staff consisting of two credit supervisors and credit analysts located in the GVA Office providing leadership, guidance, and development opportunities for the team.
Supervise the day to day activities of the staff ensuring that priorities are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
Actively interact with other functional and commercial team members in determining customer solutions.
Attend weekly business unit risk management meetings.
Assist in the management and development of customer relationships in portfolios of the Geneva office.
Assist in the coordination of credit activities with other ETI Platform offices on shared counterparties.
Ensure that appropriate exposure limits are established for all counterparties, and that corporate credit standards, policies and procedures are adhered to.
Monitor daily exposure and report any material over-limit situations, or any significant deterioration in counterparty credit profile to the Global ETI Platform Credit Manager and Business Unit Leader.
Participate actively in projects that may arise within the function.

Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics, or Finance, MBA a plus.
Between 8 to 10 years of direct staff supervisory experience.
Commensurate level of experience in commercial credit analysis and credit risk management techniques preferably with an energy trading and marketing company or with a major financial institution.
Good understanding of financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, country and sector analysis.
Demonstrated leadership style that is collaborative, team focused, humble, and engaging.
Good working knowledge of contracts and trading documentation including experience in negotiations.
Understanding of the capital and commodity markets.
Self-starter, ability to manage own workflow and priorities during a fast-paced work environment. Able to handle queries, questions and challenges of one's decisions and assumptions.
Ability to establish a strong working rapport with customers.
Must be a strong communicator able to work cross-functionally and willing to contribute to broader.
Proficient computer skills including advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point.
Excellent written and spoken English.
