Software Test Lead Engineer

In this position the ideal candidate will be responsible for the automated testing and delivery of MPLS/L2VPN/BFD/L3VPN software for Cisco's High-End router products.
Programming experience and networking knowledge in automation testing is required to fulfil the following responsibilities for this Cisco team:

- Reviewing and providing feedback on product requirement documentation and functional specifications
- Define comprehensive test strategies and test plans based on evolving and changing product specifications.
- Demonstrating a high degree of originality and innovation in defining test strategies and methodologies
- Drive resolution of test blockers and other software issues
- Define Reliability, Availability, Serviceability (RAS) goals for products. Incorporate RAS in product design/testing.
- Requires experience with of Internet architecture and applications with applied knowledge in routing protocols (ISIS, OSPF, BGP,) MPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN
- Superior debugging and testing skills to quickly reproduce and isolate software problems
- The role calls for a tenacious and patient engineer with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, and an ability to promote cooperation among team colleagues.
- Automation and scripting using TCL, PERL, is an asset

- Possess in-depth understanding of Internet Architectures and competitive products.
- Superior debugging and testing skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and prioritize them
- Ability to plan large projects and the ability to solve system wide problems
The successful candidate will require an excellent track record that exhibits some or all of the following capabilities and skills:
- Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with at least 5-7 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 7-10+ yrs related experience
- Cisco Certifications such as CCNA are desired, but not required

Travel may be required on a very infrequent basis.
