Manage a Global Delivery Services organization to ensure stable creation, operation and maintenance of solutions and provision of services according to the business needs and Informatics standards.Establish and manage a globally aligned, high performance team that attracts and develops the best people, set goals which are aligned with business imperatives and rewards achievements.Set global, strategic directions for reliable, functional and cost effective services and deliver service excellence utilizing globally harmonized processes and tools based on standard IT Service Management (ITSM) framework and best practice, verified by high levels of customer satisfaction and benchmarking. Broadly influence the organization to deliver the Informatics strategy.
As part of the PGL Leadership Team contributes, reviews and challenges the functional strategy and plan and ensures optimal deployment of resources and capability within the area of responsibility Contributes to the development of the Functional Strategy, based on best practices in area of responsibility Develops strategic direction for area of responsibility, aligned to functional strategy. This includes the design and management of appropriate organizational structures and processes to deliver the most effective and efficient services Manages an organization of global managers and professionals to ensure achievement of strategic and operation plan objectives by creating: A high performance work environment with attractive career path alternatives, employee development plans, recognition programs and talent management planning. An environment of teamwork within the area and across the wider organization Based on best practices, internal and external benchmarking, pursues new and smarter ways of doing work, and encourages environment of knowledge transfer and continuous learning Understands and takes ownership for the wider Informatics and Infrastructure agenda and engages managers in the organization to pro-actively communicate/ cascade key priorities of the organization and required accountabilities Establishes an environment where open two way communication and learning is possible Ensures that managers in area of responsibility communicate effectively Plans, organizes and monitors area performance, and where necessary, initiates corrective actions to address short-falls in performance and capability Drives efficiency by utilizing globally harmonized processes for IT operations and implementing a common process framework based on ITIL standards in support of the overall service management vision Ensures that defined working processes and standards (Corporate, Pharma and Informatics) are followed within the area of responsibility Manages a global budget Delivers Global Projects and ongoing Service Provision according to Service Level Agreements and agreed KPIs (Operating Model processes 5 and 6) Leads, mentors and grows members of the Delivery Services Management Team Supports the IMs in the creation and management of the portfolio to ensure demand and supply can be aligned (Operating Model processes 1 and 2) Works with the IMs and the Business Solution Managers in driving new or changed solutions that provide business value (Operating Model processes 3 and 4) Ensures regular reporting for projects and services is in place according to agreed KPIs. Defines multi-sourcing strategy for the Delivery organization to ensure appropriate resources are available at a cost-effective level Ensures that the application portfolio is aligned with the Enterprise Architecture and that applications are sunset appropriately Complies with Informatics standards in particular PMM, Quality and CSV guidelines Participates as an active member of the PGL Leadership Team and the extended Management Team of Pharma Informatics Liaises with Informatics Services functions to ensure stable and reliable services are provided to the Delivery Services organization Oversees vendor relationships and contract alignment on strategies and goals |
