The Energy Transportation & Industrial Analysis (ETIA) department is seeking to fill a Global Steel and Iron Ore Analyst position in Geneva:

ETIA acts as the focus for fundamental analysis for Cargill's Energy Transportation, & Industrial Platform. We support 8 Businesses: Ocean Transportation, Petroleum, Coal, Global Emissions and European Power & Gas, North American Power, North American Gas, Cargill Ferrous and Convergence Trading Unit. The Global Ore and Steel markets are undergoing a significant transition. To capture this opportunity Cargill has decided to expand its Steel and Ore Analysis team. The analysts are responsible for maintaining and building economic models to support trading decisions and help identify trading opportunities.

This position is based in Geneva and reports to the Manager of Dry Bulk Analysis. Key responsibilities of this role will include providing decision support to Cargill Ferrous and the wider ETI trading team, via:
•Sourcing and management of critical data
•Creating analysis and executing knowledge flow
•Clear and timely delivery of focused information to the trading team
•Building integrated Steel and Ore supply and demand models.
•80% of the work will be directly supporting Cargill Ferrous
•20% of the work will be adapting the analysis to support Cargill's Global Freight model
Qualifications: Masters degree (finance / economics / mathematics or science)
Experience: 5 years +
Languages: English : Speak / Write Fluently

•Graduate or Masters in finance / economics / mathematics or science. Top degree required in a numerate subject
•IT skills: Excellent Excel/VBA required. Knowledge of databases a plus.
•Languages: Fluent English written/spoken
•Highly numerate
•Experience in steel or mining analysis, a plus
•Commercial flair in order to support traders in taking risk decisions
•Good interpersonal skills / ability to work in team / communicate with senior management
