Global regulatory trends, driven by the ratification of new FCTC Guidelines and the EU's TPD 2, require that JTI advocacy is developed centrally and the implementation of regional and market level advocacy overseen globally to ensure that JTI's views and positions are communicated in a consistent and effective manner to shape the regulatory environment. This role directs the development of JTI's global advocacy content; directs the rollout across markets of the JTI Way of Developing Local Regulatory Strategy; directs the development of JTI advocacy strategy in "accelerator" markets; directs the JTI Mild Seven Defense strategy in key Mild Seven markets; ensures that market advocacy is consistent with global strategy and positions; and coordinates with Regulatory Affairs, other Headquarters functions, regions and markets as advocacy content and strategy is developed. Areas of responsibility 1. Direct the development of JTI's global advocacy content and the arguments, evidence and alternative solutions through which specific, global regulatory trends and JTI's regulatory environment will be shaped to ensure that emerging regulation is reasonable, proportionate and competitively neutral.
2. Direct the rollout of the JTI Way of Developing Local Regulatory Strategy across markets to ensure that JTI's global advocacy strategies and content are applied in an efficient, effective and consistent manner.
3. Direct the development of JTI advocacy content and strategy in "accelerator" markets to ensure that new regulatory initiatives are addressed in a manner consistent with JTI global advocacy strategy.
4. Direct the JTI Mild Seven Defense strategy in key markets to ensure that the Mild Seven trademark is successfully defended in an efficient, effective and consistent manner.
5. Ensure that JTI global advocacy development workstreams and projects are completed to specification, on time, and to JTI / Regulatory Affairs standards. Ensure that costs associated with initiatives and projects are managed within budget. |
