Legal Services is responsible for a large portfolio of legal issues, with a particular focus on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), competition law, and contractual issues. We are currently looking for a Intellectual Property Rights Manager (100%)
The successful candidate will manage and support legal services for the ISO Central Secretariat and ISO Member Bodies, with a focus on intellectual property matters. Under the supervision of the Legal Adviser, his/her key responsibilities will be to:
* Support the Legal Adviser in protecting and enforcing ISO's trademarks and copyright in ISO Standards.
* Manage ISO's trademark portfolio including the domain name portfolio
* Perform and coordinate routine enforcement activities independently (requesting cease and desist of minor IPR infringements).
* Liaise with ISO member bodies regarding the registration and enforcement of ISO's trademarks in ISO member countries.
* Maintain and improve the monitoring, tracking and record-keeping of intellectual property rights and other issues within ISO.
* Maintain and improve the filing systems related to all activities within Legal Services.
* Ensure administrative and editorial support as required. (e.g. support to the internal Legal Matters Group, updating IPR Web site, checking of patent declarations, etc.).
* Perform other duties as requested. |

* You have a legal background and preferably a few years’ experience in dealing with intellectual property matters.
* You are looking for a challenging opportunity to develop and take more responsibilities in working independently on trademark issues.
* You are proactive, autonomous and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
* Your excellent priority setting skills help you handle different projects at the same time.
* At ease with office IT systems and new technologies, you are a regular user of Internet and social networks.
* You are comfortable with administrative tasks (up to 40% of the working time).
Education and languages:
* University-level education.
* Excellent oral and written English.
* Knowledge of French is an asset
Experience:
* Minimum 2 years as a lawyer or 3-5 years’ experience as a paralegal or similar position.
Soft skills:
* Excellent organizational skills
* Clear and succinct communicator.
* Very good in setting priorities, analysis & synthesis skills.
