Cisco is seeking an IBSG Director, European Service Providers. The successful managing director candidate will be recognised as both an industry and Cisco thought leader. With strong skills in financial analysis and service provider business modeling for next generation IP services. Based on performance and impact, this managing director will have the opportunity to extend his or her leadership to the entire European Service Provider Organization.
KEY OBJECTIVES / RESPONSIBILITIES: The IBSG Director, European SP will have responsible to: • Lead and manage the South Europe Service Provider practice which includes personnel management, engagement portfolio management, Thought Leadership Development oversight, internal stakeholder management. • Key spokesperson and representative to Cisco’s European Service Provider leadership. • Develop customer partnerships with selected EMEA telecoms/media/broadcast players (‘SP’), engage at senior executive level and be responsible for developing, driving and delivering new and innovative strategies for major telecommunications/media or broadcast customers. • Lead, develop and apply new thought leadership that can help Cisco develop relationships in the telecommunications market by proposing and developing innovative solutions to the major challenges faced by SP customers. • Work cross functionally across Cisco (Sales, Strategy, SP Marketing, CA, etc.) to drive Cisco's strategy in SP. • Develop deep relationships with key senior executives in the telecommunications/media/broadcast sectors (typically CxO level) through high-touch consulting engagements that increase customer’s business performance (through innovation, increasing revenues or reducing OPEX). This role is at the forefront of Cisco's strategic industry-shaping activities. • Deliver success stories from engagements that can be used publicly to showcase best practices in the SP and stimulate industry innovation. • Demonstrate thought leadership in the Telecommunications/Media/Broadcast sectors. Establish reputation for unique and insightful point of view on the issues that are transforming the industry. • Accelerate demand for Cisco's end-to-end solutions. • Assist Cisco senior executives and sales teams in developing Cisco strategy.

• BA/BS required. MBA from top tier business school, or other post-graduate degree strongly preferred • Experienced management professional from a top tier consulting firm or professional services practice with experience in: personnel (hiring, management, development, leadership), resource management, and project portfolio management. • Seasoned business/consulting executive with experience working with CxOs to solve strategy and operational challenges: A track record of cultivating senior executive relationships • Experience in telecommunications, media or broadcast sectors, preferably in strategy/business development, strategic management consulting or with a major Systems Integrator. Industry executive or consulting Partner/Director level required. • Technical savvy, with solid understanding of networking technologies and the key applications they enable. • A very good level of understanding with at least one of the following topics: - Next Generation Communications Provider (Implications of networking on business model, services, operations) - Consumer Broadband, IPTV or home networking technologies - Managed services for Enterprise , SMB or consumers - Communication, collaboration or online applications / Web 2.0 services - Fixed-Mobile Convergence - Broadcasting and application of technology - Media industry and application of technology • Experience in translating technologies into services/solutions, including business case development, service design and go-to-market processes • A proven ability to build bridge between technology and business impact, with strong understanding of business processes and operations • Demonstrable experience with SP’s / Broadcasters / Media.
Other important skills: Highly analytical, ability to work in cross-functional organizations, customer centric approach, results-oriented performance and innovative approach to problem solving. Very strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to work in a matrix organization with few or no direct reports |
