Marketing, Communication and Fundraising Director
The Business Development Director’s primary responsibility is to maximize EWS-WWF income from donations and grants, as well as shape communication strategies that contribute to EWS-WWF priorities and ensure delivery of internal and external communication tools. The Business Development Director requires considerable strategic, leadership and management skills as the role will include overseeing and giving strategic direction to EWS-WWF’s development of its relationships with the business sector, government supporters and foundations. The Business Development Director will maximize marketing and communication efforts to protect and improve the EWS-WWF brand and image in the UAE and the region.

The Business Development Director supervises a team of fundraising, marketing and communication staff and reports to the Director General. The Business Development Director also serves on the EWS-WWF Management Committee (MC).

Position Scope:
The Business Development Director will provide leadership, vision and strategic direction for the Business Development activities and the organisation as a whole. This is a full-time position, responsible for the planning, management, resourcing, co-ordination and review of all fundraising activities; budget management and planning of expenditure and income, as well as plan and overlook all the marketing and communication efforts.

Responsibilities:
The role is to lead and direct EWS-WWF’s business development activities with hands on involvement in both fundraising and communication.
* Plan and secure the yearly fundraising budget
* Develop and implement an effective and innovative fundraising strategy that supports the conservation mission of EWS-WWF;
* Develop an in-depth understanding of how partnerships with responsible corporates can enhance delivery of effective outcomes on the conservation goals of EWS-WWF;
* Provide strong leadership and management for direct reports
* Develop (in close consultation with EWS-WWF policy team) innovative means that will incentivize private sector engagement with EWS-WWF;
* Coordinate, manage and monitor all corporate engagement to ensure efficiency and effectiveness;
* Help evaluate the activities and performance of all sponsor funded programmes.
* Develop and ensure implementation of communication strategy
* Seek opportunities in the marketing of EWS-WWF by developing ‘products’ from concept to commercialization.

This is a full-time permanent position based within the EWS-WWF office in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. EWS-WWF offers a flexible and diverse workplace.

Qualifications: Masters degree (Public Relations, Sales, Communication, Marketing, or Fundraising)

* Minimum 10 years of experience in partnership development;
* Experience of successfully managing small teams;
* Ability to reach fundraising targets and motivate others to achieve targets
* First-hand experience of working in the Corporate Social Responsibility environment.
* Experience in analysing fundraising and marketing data
* Creative capacity to move beyond a philanthropic approach to fund-raising to one that includes appropriate business and marketing approaches;
* Ability to leverage corporate relationships and fund-raising in support of EWS-WWF’s institutional objectives for communications, marketing and branding;
* Experience in managing media relationships
* Knowledge of the use of IT in general, and Customer Relations Management tools
* Managing highly sophisticated and personalized engagement with supporters or clients
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
* Fluency in English and preferably Arabic.
* Available for travelling within the UAE

Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
* An excellent educational background, likely including an advanced degree in Public Relations, Sales, Communication, Marketing, or Fundraising,
* At least 10 years experience in a senior business development or similar position in an international environment,
* Have a proven track record in fundraising including strategy, prospect research, proposal preparation and presentations, and donor stewardship.
* Have a proven track record demonstrating excellent communication skills
* Strong interest in conservation and environmental issues
