The MCI Manager is committed to reveal value and benefit of Merck Serono products through effective medical communication and to provide best-in-class medical information for his/her assigned product(s). In order to achieve this function with global impact; he/she shall: •Drive the development and execution of the global medical communication strategy and plan for his/her product(s). •Provide medical communication support to key stakeholders. Provide medical information support to regions for his/her assigned globally marketed product(s) and ensure its quality and consistency. KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES Functional Tasks The Product Leader shall: • Drive the development and execution of publication plans according to the global strategy for his/her product(s) ◦Drive the execution the global medical communication strategy plan, that has been agreed between MCI and key stakeholders (development and publication of manuscripts, abstracts, oral presentations, and posters), in collaboration with key stakeholders. ◦Lead the cross-functional publication steering committees (PSC) for their assigned product(s). ◦Collaborate with internal corporate and regional publication proponents (e.g. PSC members, regions, research, etc.) and internal & external authors. ◦Conduct appropriate benchmark • Develop or review accurate and up-to-date information on his/her products and competitors that could have an impact on Merck Serono business (Publication Alerts, Frequently Asked Questions, Questions and Answers documents). This activity is done in close collaboration with global marketing and/or other key stakeholders, as requested. •Contribute to the medical communication support to global marketing and/or other key stakeholders, when required, for scientific related activities on his/her designated product(s) such as: ◦satellite symposia at key international congresses/scientific expert panels. ◦development of scientific material (e.g. core slide sets, training material, or other scientific material, etc.). • Coordinate/contribute to the organization of the medical booth (e.g. staffing the booth and providing scientific support) at key international congresses, as requested by Global Marketing, on his/her assigned product(s). •Provide appropriate scientific support to the Local Medical Information Professionals through the development and/or the scientific review of Global Response Documents (GRD) and Preliminary Response Documents (PRD) for his/her assigned product(s). •Ensure that these documents are developed in a non-promotional, scientifically balanced, and timely manner, in accordance with Merck Serono internal processes and regulation • Maintain Datavision and provide input to other Merck Serono databases (MedQuest, global medical literature database, KOL database, intranet, etc) in an ad hoc basis. •Responsible of the budget associated with his/her activities (planning, negotiation, follow-up) for his/her assigned products •Coordinates the activity of Medical Communication and Information staff, as requested •Excellent team player •Excellent organizational & negotiations skills •Excellent communication & interpersonal skills •Highly committed and flexible working attitude •Result and customer focused and committed to keep timelines and deliverables •Awareness of intercultural differences and ability to work with multinational teams •Ability to interpret, understand and critically analyze complex scientific and medical data |

•Academic (MD, PhD, or PharmD) degree in medical or life science from an internationally recognized university. •Track record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations at congresses. •English fluent mandatory ; French and/or German an asset. •Minimum 5 years experience in a globally operating pharmaceutical or biotech industry •Must be familiar with scientific publication process, international publication standards of scientific journals and the pharmaceutical industry •Minimum 2 years experience in Medical Communications Agency a must •Must be familiar with medical information process and regulation •Has a proven record of project management •Proven experience within fertility a strong asset |
