| The OPEX Champion at Chemical Manufacturing Basel is responsible for the Operational Excellence Program at this major chemical manufacturing site of Roche's Pharmaceuticals Division. You lead a program of improvement projects and initiatives being managed by yourself or project managers who report functionally to you. You are expected to initiate, develop and run the projects and assure their complete implementation to achieve the targeted improvements. The program is using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methods in which you support and coach teams in. You report to the head of Chemical Manufacturing Basel and are a member of management team, and you are a member of the global OPEX community liaising with other OPEX champions around the world and the global program office. |

For this challenging role you have earned a university degree or an equivalent qualification in a science or engineering, or business administration with operational focus. You have at least 5 years professional work experience including project and operations management. Experience in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methods and techniques is highly desirable, ideally you are a certified Master Black Belt with a proven track record of lasting operational improvements and financial results. Knowledge of manufacturing in regulated environments and quality management principles is very useful. As a person you combine analytical and problem solving skills with experience in project and change management. Excellent written and oral communication skills help you to succeed, in particular in presentations and facilitation. German and English are mandatory, further languages will enrich your experience and opportunities in a global setting. You enjoy to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural projects with a customer focused attitude and a sense of urgency and self-motivation. You are able to work independently as well as an energizing team player accepting occasional high stress levels.You are able to represent the OPEX program at local and international senior management levels, and you are able to motivate, influence and gain commitment at all levels of the organization.
