Within Roche Pharmaceuticals the department "Pharmaceutical and Analytical R&D" is responsible for the pharmaceutical development and clinical supply of biotech and small-molecule drugs in Research and Development. The position is based in Basel, Switzerland.The person leads a section, e.g. 3 groups with approx. 40 FTEs; responsible for all formulation and supply activities of biologics and parenteral projects in Pharma Research & Early Development (pRED). You will work in close collaboration with other sections of the department and partner functions in the global organization such as quality control, regulatory affairs, fermentation and purification as well as a number of external partners. | The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, biophysics, biotechnology, chemistry or related areas and 5+ years of related experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The position requires strong scientific expertise in protein formulation, lyophilisation, drug delivery of macromolecules, aseptic manufacturing and protein analytics. She or he is a team player, self driven and demonstrates strong leadership already with larger teams as well as coordination and communication skills. Scientific interest and knowledge in the area of pharma technologies, interest in innovation and technological challenges are essential for the position. The candidate should be fluent in English (oral and written) and should have a working knowledge in German or willing to learn.
