Technical Program Managers are the core of managing Google's continued growth. Technical program Managers ensure that Google's services can be deployed in a time, place and configuration which is ideal for serving users. You must demonstrate the ability to provide matrix leadership across functional teams, lead complex projects to successful completion, evaluate data and understand complex technical topics affecting Google services and users.
Ideally coming from a senior engineer background you will have gained extremely strong business project management skills and have great judgement when it comes to evaluating product changes and implied engineering efforts. You will work on a regional or possibly global responsibility level to work with product, engineering and partnership teams to make our key partnerships globally a success (broadcaster, music and sport content producers).
Responsibilities: Manage technical projects or programs, working closely with engineers and technical staff to develop, launch, and support google infrastructure, products, and services. Gather requirements and define the scope of the project. Find resources, manage resource allocation for projects. Develop a plan and schedule, with well-defined milestones. Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and external to the team (customers, partners, etc); escalate issues as necessary. |
