Senior Accountant
Based in Basle/Switzerland, and reporting to the Head of Pharma Finance Accounting, Reporting & Capex, the main tasks as Senior Accountant will be:
To effectively manage the department responsible for performing financial analysis and providing feedback to top management and other customers on profitability, cash flows and operating assets.
To serve as back-up to the Head of the Pharma Finance Accounting, Reporting & Capex Group, and to take the lead on specific accounting issues for the Pharma Division. This includes formulating Divisional accounting positions with Corporate Finance and providing guidance to the Divisional customers, i.e., Global Functions, Affiliates, Top Management, etc.
To manage the monthly closing and quarterly rolling forecast processes, including the preparation of the global consolidated business statement for the Pharma Division. This involves corresponding with the affiliates and global functions so that all required entries are booked.
To work closely with the licensing controlling group on accounting matters relating to deals, both before and after the deals are signed, as well as managing any audits involving alliance partners.
To provide support to major projects and initiatives, including the preparation and analysis of financial models.
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree (Finance and Accounting)
Apprenticeship (CPA, ACA, CIMA)
Experience: 5 years +

Supervision and controlling experience would be optional. A good understanding of IAS and US GAAP and a professional accounting qualification like CPA, ACA, CIMA, CA or equivalent, are a precondition. You have excellent written and oral language skills in English and good German language skills. Additional language skills would be an asset. The ability to interpret and summarize complex accounting issues and good hands-on knowledge of PC tools, MS suite etc. and presentation skills are also essential for this position. You are a strong team player and self-starter with good analytical and communicational skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional group and under pressure.
