Clinical Scientist
As a scientist, ideally trained in Neurosciences, your main task consists in assisting the Translational Medicine Leader to support the early clinical development for specific CNS compounds towards proof of mechanism and proof of concept. This includes contributing to the global early development strategy, the harmonization of pre-clinical testing with clinical testing, the development of clinical study protocols in close collaboration with the other team members.

You will have to evaluate, interpret, and synthesize scientific data, present and critically discuss clinical trial data in internal and external meetings You will bring scientific support to the Study Management Teams responsible for the conduct of small Phase IB and larger Phase IIA studies. You will report to the Translational Medicine Leader for the projects.

Ideally you have a MD or a PhD with industrial experience in Neuroscience. Candidates with other qualification and appropriate experience will also be considered.

You have a good understanding of the drug development and clinical trial process in the pharmaceutical industry, based on experience gained in pharmaceutical/biotech company or CRO, including management of international clinical development programmes; consideration will also be given to candidates in academia with the appropriate scientific credentials (incl. experience working with industry) and a strong motivation to move into the industry. You have as well relevant scientific training in certain disciplines such as statistics, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics or drug safety.

You are able to operate in a multidisciplinary team. You are fluent in English (written and spoken). You have good computer skills and are very familiar with MS Office Word/Excel. You also have capability to conduct Graphical Exploratory Analysis (Splus/Spotfire/SAS).

You have as well relevant scientific training in certain disciplines such as statistics, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics or drug safety.You should also be able to supervise less experienced team members. Because of the international scope of this position, you should be willing to undertake the associated travel.
